At
the Vineyard we believe that everyone has a part
to play in the life of the church. The Bible
teaches us that God’s people should be
“prepared for works of service, so that the body
of Christ may be built up.” One of the ways
in which we prepare people to serve and so build
up the church is through prayer ministry.
To do
this we have a series of “Ministry Teams”
equipped and assigned to both of our Sunday
morning services. These teams are made up of 8
to 12 people who minister to those who want to
receive prayer.
TRAINING
We have
an excellent training course for all those who
would like to be trained and released to serve
on one of the Ministry Teams. This course is
offered in both a 6 week small group format, and
in a one day workshop format. Here’s the outline
structure of the course:
1. Why we have a Ministry
team (making room for the Kingdom)
2. The
5-Step Model
3. Types
of Prayer and Gift.
4. Problem
Texts
5. Ministry
Team: Attitudes and Values
6. Ministry
Team: Spiritual and Practical Considerations
Those
who would like to serve on a ministry team must
take this course prior to doing so.
Given
the importance of this ministry, and the trust
that is involved in releasing people to pray for
those who come forward to receive prayer, there
are a few other requirements:

Complete courses in
Alpha and Vineyard Values
